Welcome to the website of Canadian Expat Professionals Association, Inc. (“CEPA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our websites, online services, and membership platforms (collectively, the “Services”). By using our Services, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
1. Eligibility and Acceptance
You must be at least 16 years old to use our Services. By accessing or using our website or membership platform, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and agree to comply with these Terms.
2. Accounts, Membership, and Sponsorship Applications
When you create an account or submit a membership or sponsorship application, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. CEPA reserves the right to accept, deny, or terminate any membership or account at its discretion.
3. Privacy
Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Please review the Privacy Policy carefully.
4. User Content and Conduct
You may post or share information through our platform, including text, images, and links (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your content but grant CEPA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it as part of promoting and providing our Services. 5. Community Conduct and Safety
CEPA is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all members. By using our Services, you agree to uphold the following community standards:
Treat all members with courtesy and respect.
Do not post, transmit, or share content that is harassing, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful.
Do not collect, share, or publish another member’s personal information (including names, contact details, or photographs) without their explicit consent.
Do not use CEPA’s Services for commercial solicitation, spamming, or any form of unwanted contact.
Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization or individual.
Members should feel safe when interacting with others through CEPA’s platform. CEPA reserves the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or restrict access for any conduct that violates these standards or applicable law.
If you experience or witness harassment, inappropriate behavior, or misuse of personal information, please report the incident promptly by emailing safety@canadianexpats.org. CEPA will review all reports in good faith, take appropriate action, and may provide aggregated, non-identifiable data about moderation actions to comply with applicable transparency obligations.
5. Intellectual Property and Copyright Complaints
All content on our website and Services (other than User Content) is owned or licensed by CEPA. If you believe that your copyright or other intellectual property rights have been infringed, please notify us promptly at legal@canadianexpats.org with sufficient details to identify the material and the alleged infringement. We will remove infringing material in accordance with applicable law.
6. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Services may include links or integrations with third-party websites, platforms, or services. We do not control or endorse any third-party systems, and your use of them is at your own risk. These third parties may have their own terms and privacy practices.

9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in California, United States.
